For years, I walked into perfume stores hoping I'd find the one. I'd smell bottle after bottle, leave with a headache, and somehow still walk out empty-handed. Everything felt too overpowering or too complicated. I wanted something softer. Something that smelled beautiful without announcing itself from across the room.
I wanted fragrances that felt like sunshine on your skin. So I decided to create them myself.
The funny thing is - I had no background in the fragrance industry. No formal training. No roadmap. Just a curiosity for scent and a determination to create the kind of perfumes I had always been searching for.
I spent countless hours learning everything I could, experimenting with blends, testing formulas, and refining every fragrance until it felt just right. My goal was never to create the loudest perfume in the room. It was to create fragrances that feel effortless, beautiful, comforting, and memorable. The kind people notice when they hug you and can't stop thinking about afterward.
What started as a small idea has grown into Coconut - a Canadian fragrance brand built one bottle, one market, and one customer at a time.
Today, you'll still find me doing just about everything. I'm blending fragrances, packing orders, answering customer emails, loading up for markets, and personally introducing thousands of people across Canada to Coconut. There isn't a big team behind the brand, just a whole lot of heart and a genuine love for creating something that brings people joy.
Every fragrance is handmade in small batches in Winnipeg and inspired by the feeling of escaping somewhere beautiful; warm beaches, slow mornings, salty air, golden sunsets, and memories you wish you could bottle forever.
Looking back, it's incredible to think that something that started with me searching for my own perfect perfume has become a brand trusted by customers and retailers across Canada.
Thank you for being here and for supporting this dream. Every order, every visit to my market booth, every kind message, and every bottle you choose means more than you know.
I hope when you wear Coconut, you feel a little lighter, a little brighter, and a little more like the best version of yourself.
See you in the sunshine,
Jessica
